Emily Mankey has become part of the HOC team after completing her Master of Osteopathy at RMIT Bundoora.
Emily has grown up in the Diamond Valley area and attended Catholic Ladies College in Eltham. After Year 12 she completed 2 years of Biomedical Science at Deakin University where she developed a deep respect and interest for the anatomy of the human body. It was then she developed her passion for a hands on profession like Osteopathy and making a difference in helping the body to heal itself.
Through out the duration of the course Emily was involved with the Preston Bullants and Marcillan College AFL football teams as a sports trainer. This allowed great exposure to sports injuries and management of athletes. More recently Emily completed her Certificate III and IV in fitness and is a personal trainer. Emily looks forward to completing her Pilates instructing course in 2009 and believes this will add to her tools to be a holistic practitioner and help patients to be stronger and healthier within themselves. It also gives Emily a thorough knowledge of how the body works biomechanically and functionally adding yet another tool to her Osteopathic armoury.
Emily's future education will involve pediatric and pregnancy studies. She loves working with children and has worked in an after school care facility during her early years at university. Osteopathy during pregnancy is a particular interest that Emily wishes to follow.
Emily is delighted to be a part of the HOC team and enjoys the everyday challenges that Osteopathy brings her way.
