Dr Emily Caldwell, Registered Osteopath
B.App.Sci (Comp Med), M.Osteo, BA, Dip RM
Emily has taken a long and winding path to become an Osteopath. She grew up in Sydney and after completing year 12 considered various career options in health and medicine before deciding she wasn’t ready, choosing a general Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney. Upon graduation, she accepted the unique opportunity to teach English at a primary school in Thailand for a year. Like many that travel, she returned with a broader perspective of the world and a firm resolve never to teach again.
Emily’s skill and passion for hands-on medicine developed in 2004 when she completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage and began working as a massage therapist in day spas. She has continued to work and expand her skill base since then in various settings such as pilates studios, private practice and hospitals (maternity and rehabilitation).
Emily’s decision to become an Osteopath coincided with the decision to move to Melbourne, which was a rewarding challenge. She completed her studies at RMIT University and even after all those years of study she intends to continue her education in children’s health and development. She is passionate about Osteopathy and loves to work with people from all walks of life, trying to find optimum finding health and supporting them through changes in lifestyle or rehabilitation from injury.
Emily maintains her own health and balance by practicing regular pilates, yoga and bellydance all whilst enjoying fine food and wine.
Emily is delighted to join the team at HOC, offering osteopathic care to the whole family in a relaxed and caring environment. Please feel free to call Emily to discuss whether Osteopathy may be beneficial to you, your family or friends.
