Dr Lauren Woodman - Osteopath

Lauren recently completed her five years of Osteopathic study at Victoria University. She is passionate about Osteopathy and was initially drawn to its holistic approach and the respect Osteopathy paid to the body’s anatomical and systemic connections as well as its innate intelligence and healing abilities.

Lauren first encountered Osteopathy as an Athlete and was impressed with how comprehensive the practise was as she was managed and lead through areas such as functional rehabilitation, diet, postural advice, strengthening exercises and how to best avoid aggravating factors.

She has worked previously as an In-house corporate therapist which offered her the opportunity to work extensively with office related injuries and stress induced aliments such as tension headaches, Irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, breathing problems and postural strains.

Lauren has also worked as a mobile massage therapist providing remedial, relaxation and sports massage to a variety of individuals, including high performance tri-athletes, social sportsmen and mothers a like. This experience has allowed Lauren the opportunity to understand the demands and stresses of a variety of sports, professions and lifestyles and how to best treat them.

Lauren’s interest lies in preventative medicine and regularly practises yoga, chi gong, and meditation. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of these arts and incorporating relevant aspects in her patient’s management.

Lauren is in the process of undertaking further study in the fields of Cranial Sacral Therapy and Biodynamic Osteopathy. Both these therapies utilise gentle approaches and are becoming increasing popular, as they are effective and suitable for all ages including infants and a variety of conditions.
